Finding a job is serious business Abridged: Design Resumes

WAUSAU, WI -- Too many job seekers out there are not completing their online professional profiles correctly and making the information available to employers, recruiters and hiring managers. It's important to note, using the latest online tools to help you in your job search is always great. But like anything else, if you use it badly, you will not benefit.

Taking shortcuts on your resume, LinkedIn profile or on job applications will result in you not getting the job, plain and simple! Job search is all about Strategy and when you short-change the quality of your career marketing materials (i.e. resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, Google+ profile, or online application), you are short-changing your potential to get a new job.

Finding a job is serious business. This economy makes it even more serious. Before you submit an application, you need to have done your research to make sure it's a good fit for you. Then when you find that good fit, give them your best materials -- not an empty profile that only has company name and position on it. If you really want a new career or job, get serious about it and quit trying to take the easy way out. Hitting the easy button doesn't always get you the cash.
